Francis 'Fran' Parker

Francis J. (Fran) Parker, 82, died Tuesday, Nov. 29, at Libby.

He was born at Libby on Sept. 14, 1923 to James Parker and Nona Conn Parker. Raised and educated in Libby, he had been a forty-year employee of the Great Northern Railroad where he had been a section worker in the Libby district until his retirement.

Following his retirement, he had resided in both Libby and Washington state until the time of his death.

An avid outdoorsman, Fran enjoyed both fishing and hunting. He was preceded in death by his mother and father.

He is survived by his brother, Richard (Dick) Parker of Otis Orchards, Wash.; nieces and nephews Gail Parker, Colleen Luscher, Mike Parker, Patrick Parker and Shawn Parker as well as several cousins and good friend Betty Parker.

Services will be Friday, Dec. 2, at 2 p.m. at the City of Libby Cemetery. Friends may call at the Nelson and Vial Funeral Home from 1-5 p.m. Thursday and until 1 p.m. on Friday.
