Area students at All-Star Choral Honors

Libby and Troy high schools sent nine choir students to the annual University of Montana All-Star Choral Honors event last weekend in Missoula.

The local students performed under the direction of experienced music professionals, according to information submitted by Libby High School Choir Director Lorraine Braun.

The mixed choir performed collegiate level music, including a piece commissioned specifically for the concert last weekend, Brauns said. They did so under the baton of Matthew Ferrell, who is professor of music at St. Cloud State University.

Additionally, the Women’s Choir rehearsed and performed under the baton of Coreen Duffy, who is the Interim Director of Choral Studies at the University of Montana School of Music.

The choir that went from Libby and Troy included Devin Carberry, Kaleb Lindgren, Zoey O’Donnell, Hannah Beebe, Destiny Biorn, Laneigha Zeiler, Isaac Biorn, Mikalyn Zeiler and Hailey Dotson.
