Flathead Valley Community College will offer free 5-week classes at its Kalispell and Libby campuses to prepare students to take the Montana High School Equivalency Test (HISET), formerly known as the GED, with start dates on Feb. 19, April 2 and May 7.

Classes will focus on building basic reading, writing, math, computer and study skills. Additional assistance will be available to help participants create career plans and prepare for further education or specific job requirements.

Prior to registering for the class, students are required to participate in an orientation and skills assessment on Feb. 1, 8 or 13. For more information about the class or to schedule an appointment for the orientation and assessment, call FVCCs Adult Education Director Margaret Girkins at 756-3884.

FVCCs Adult Education program also offers English language classes designed for those wishing to improve their English speaking, reading and writing skills. These free classes are offered throughout the year.
