Cross country: Libby season records at Coeur d’Alene Invite

The Libby High School cross country team recorded several falling times at the Coeur d’Alene Invitational last Saturday, even as changing weather gives more outside training opportunities to the team.

The results for the team were mixed, with some runners seeing their times increase, but for others the invitational had their best times of the season.

Libby senior William O’Connell had a season record 20:09.7 in the 5k Saturday, almost a minute faster before. It also put him within 2 seconds of his personal record from last season.

Fellow senior Mikalyn Zeiler lead the Libby girls with a season record 24:42.8, a 30 second improvement over her previous season best on August 25 at Bonners Ferry.

Libby senior Chris Williams cut over two minutes from his 5k time with a season record of 26:11.6.

The meet also saw a first-recorded time for Libby sophomore Rhiannon Wilson, who completed her first Libby cross country 5k in 36:22.1.

Fellow Libby sophomore Savanna Sanderson also had a season record with a 33:15.3.
